Today, Infobip announced that thanks to integrations with RCS Business Messaging and Google Vertex AI, businesses can now make use of conversational AI and chatbots within RCS. As a reminder, RCS is messaging standard championed by Google that allows folks to send high-resolution images, video and large files to others via Android’s core messaging app.

It’s an upgraded version of an SMS similar to Apple’s iMessage but for Android and iOS devices.

By combining AI with messaging, businesses can now offer a better customer engagement experience even when a customer is texting the business from their native messaging app. This brings the benefits of using a bespoke app or platform to native messaging apps.

“RCS is one of the key communication channels that businesses and brands are increasingly using to communicate with their customers given its ability to provide a rich experience natively available on customer phones. As experts in omnichannel messaging and with an unmatched portfolio of telecom partners across the globe, we can ensure that RCS messages, and messages across any other channel, are safely and securely delivered to customers everywhere,” says chief business officer at Infobip, Ivan Ostojić (pictured in the header).

“The combination of our RCS expertise and partner network, the power of Google’s Vertex AI, and your own industry knowledge and customer insights guarantee conversational RCS interactions that will help set brands apart from their competition,” he adds.

Using Google Vertex AI and Infobip, businesses can create intelligent bots that can handle a range of queries, transactions and customer support issues. Of note, is that all queries, no matter what they relate to, can be bundled into one thread, making future support easier to accomplish.

This integration builds on Infobip’s generative AI development where it has launched AI Hub, for AI-driven customer experiences. The firm also overhauled its intelligent chatbot building platform Answers with AI and generative AI to automate customer support and reduce the cost of support through conversational journeys.

Chatbots have emerged as the poster child for AI and generative AI for good reason – it’s a lucrative market. In the US alone, the chatbot market was valued at $4.6 billion in 2022 with estimates putting its value at $32.4 billion by 2032.

The popularity of AI has also increased demand for GPUs and NVIDIA has capitalised on that demand.

This week Team Green became the most valuable firm in the world beating out Microsoft and Apple. NVIDIA isn’t slowing down and neither is the AI market so expect to see the technology bleeding into more areas of your life, even your mouse.
