Jersey Mike’s Subs has partnered with SoundHound AI to leverage the latter’s voice AI ordering system with the intention of providing customers with an optimized experience. The brand promises that customers will be able to speak naturally when placing orders, as the technology was trained to understand the restaurant’s menu. The advanced AI can recognize food and drink items when talking to customers. The technology was first made available at 50 of the 3,000+ restaurant locations.

World’s Leading High-rise Marketplace

“We strive to provide quality in everything we do. The way we choose technology is no different. AI is becoming an important part of supporting restaurant staff and providing impeccable customer service, so we’ve partnered with SoundHound because they have the experience and expertise to make sure that our customers get their favorite sub exactly how they like it,” says Scott Scherer, Chief Information Officer, Jersey Mike’s Franchise Systems, Inc.

In addition to collecting customer orders, the voice assistant can answer questions about Jersey Mike’s menu, restaurant hours, parking options, and more. One hundred percent of calls are now answered by the AI-powered assistant which can handle multiple orders at the same time.

“More than ever, restaurant customers are ordering for pick-up and delivery, and to keep them coming back, businesses need to provide a slick, hassle-free experience. Technology is now a critical part of that, and Jersey Mike’s is at the forefront of brands embracing AI to deliver first-class customer service — from when they place the order to handing over the sub,” says Keyvan Mohajer, CEO and Co-Founder of SoundHound AI.

SoundHound reports that a majority of restaurant diners expect AI voice assistants to dominate the ordering experience in the next several years.
