The powerful additions to Overcast HQ’s platform were announced alongside AWS at this year’s NAB Show in Las Vegas (today).

The company, founded by CEO Philippe Brodeur, works with brands including Diageo, Vodafone and the Royal Opera House to take control of their video content with a suite of cloud solutions.

“Brands and broadcasters these days are having to manage hundreds of terabytes, if not petabytes of content,” Brodeur commented. “Without Generative AI, it simply wouldn’t be possible to automate tagging and inputting metadata, which is exactly the kind of laborious task that slows teams down in an age where they are being required to move faster than ever.”

He continued: “It can be extraordinarily difficult for brands to create adverts and other video assets that are tailored and personalised for different geographies, which may require regulatory or compliance changes. By automating the creation of detailed descriptions and synopses of content, video asset managers are able to accelerate time to market, with compliance baked in.”

Alongside this, Overcast HQ is equipping customers with AI-powered conversational search capabilities based on AWS Bedrock that enable teams to mine the vast amount of content they own, down to individual frames, to create tailored video assets.

George Kilpatrick, Chief Revenue Officer at Overcast HQ and former Industry Lead EMEA Media and Entertainment at AWS, added: “We see a world where video asset managers are empowered, not held back, by the huge volume of content at their disposal. By launching these new solutions, we are taking a generational leap forward in the personalisation of content that is demanded by consumers across the world.”

Julia Chen, Vice President, Partner Core at AWS says: “We’ve all seen the far-reaching industry and functional applications of generative artificial intelligence (AI) that has captured widespread attention and an urgency for customers to transform their businesses.

At Amazon Web Services (AWS), we believe our partners are well-positioned to support specialized customer needs, either through providing consultative support or specialty business applications with integrated generative AI capabilities.”
